The Voicing Cycle is a breath and parts based method supporting the body's natural rhythms of expressing and awakening the emotional voice that was silenced by trauma.
The method will arise and awaken the subconscious and support the processing of what was once unsafe to feel.
SomaTalk™ supports body communication and the resolution of suffering by following the nervous system stages of opening, expression and regulation -- ultimately the authentic self is remembered.

The Voicing Cycle is guided by the primary practice of tuning into the felt experience within the body which begins its natural unwinding and opening of contracted states (an intricate system of protective responses), followed by attuning to how the body wants to move and express emotion, and the final natural outcome of awakening the voice of the body and uploading new neural circuitry. SomaTalk™. The process is intuitive and instinctive with each phase naturally leading to the next.

Each phase of the Trauma Voicing Cycle™ is grounded in sensation and safety.
Naming the Trauma
IFS (Parts-Work) is utilized to identify parts of self impacted by trauma: wounded emotional parts (shadow), protective parts (shape) and the negative cognitions internalized (story).

Sense contraction and emotion, Open to what is present without resistance; connect to safety; open the armored body, Move the unfinished trauma response somatically and Awaken to wholeness. Somatic Attuning, Breathwork, and Somatic Dialogue are practiced during each phase of the cycle.
Sense
Body Communication begins with tuning into or sensing from the bottom up: cognitive meaning emerges through sensation.
Clients are guided to drop down into their implicit felt sense through sensory awareness and tracking
(Methods: IFS and Gendlin’s focusing work are utilized).
Open
Next client’s attune to safety (shifting neuroception from threat to ease) through a compassionate welcoming and acceptance of whatever emerges.
An opening of protective defenses naturally occurs as permission, acceptance and non-resistance is perceived.
(Methods: inner-child dialogue, resourcing, neuroscience and organization of adaptive personality shapes)
Move
As client continues to attune to sensation and emotion, we explore what wants to move within the body... what wants expression?
Using breath-work and other somatic practices, stuck emotions are invited to move using sounds, shaking, emoting, sighing, and various expressive gestures.

Awaken
Following movement, the client’s nervous system generally shifts towards Ventral Vagal states of rest, digest and play. They are guided from this state to tune into their Authentic self viscerally.
During the final integration phase, attuned intuition is used to “hear” healing messages. To integrate is to awaken to ones wholeness. The brain reorganizes and uploads new pathways as the mind mirrors the peace sensed in the body. (Methods: integration and somatic attuning).

Ones whole persona organizes around trauma. Trauma is not about what happened to you it is what happens inside of you. So in order to heal, we must make contact with our physiology and nervous system.
SomaTalk™ transitions clients from words to somatic listening/attuning and expression; communication occurs through the language of the body (sound, breath, emotion, gestures).
SomaTalk™ processing invites surrendering into deep states of belonging, inviting the emergence of suppressed emotion. Protective nervous system states and patterns sense safety and soften, expression occurs and new beliefs are uploaded.
The veil of separation (the burden of trauma) is lifted and shadow stories and protective shapes awaken to their natural states.
